Georgia is continuing to get international kudos for being a spectacular tourist destination. CEO Magazineis the latest to highlight the country as an up-and-coming getaway location. Join us for the first annual Ghvino Forum organized by the America Georgia Business Council in Washington, DC. The Forum will take place November 11-13. Admission is free but an RSVP is required. Learn more here.
The Ghvino Forum consists of the following events:
- Sunday, November 11: Saperavi Festival at the Embassy of Georgia
- Monday, November 12: Trade & Media Tasting to be held at SUPRA
- Monday, November 12: Consumer Tasting to be held at SUPRA
- Tuesday, November 13: CSIS Conference "Wine, Society, and Geopolitics: How History, Political Economy, and Wine Intersect in the Caucasus and Beyond"
The Georgian Contemporary Film Festival will be held from November 13-16 at various locations in Washington, DC. See the film schedule and register for free here.
The new exhibit at ARTECHOUSE, “New Nature,” incorporates AI and responsive technology to generate patterns of insects and plants that react to the people inside the exhibition room. The exhibit’s Polish-born artist, Marpi, is inspired by the world of gaming—and specifically MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing games)—to create interactive art installations. Take a peek at his Instagram account for a sense of the visuals. The venue’s bar will feature seasonal interactive cocktail drinks that complement the artwork. Through January 13. Tickets $15.
December 3 - The Security, Political, and Economical pillars of the US - Georgia Partnership. The Georgian Association and Johns Hopkins SAIS Eurasia is organizing a discussion with H.E. David Bakhradze, Ambassador of Georgia to the United States and Dr. Mamuka Tsereteli, President of America-Georgia Council. Location: Johns Hopkins SAIS at 6 PM. Reception to follow. RSVP here.
The Phillips Collection’s new exhibit, “Nordic Impressions: Art from Åland, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, 1821–2018”, opens officially on Saturday. The exhibit will be open until January 13. Tickets $12.
